For most of us, a new role in life presents a variety of challenges and some surprises, too. Advice from someone who’s already been there can help get us through the rough spots. In the case of university students, who better than seniors to offer the benefit of their experience?

This week, Nevzat Berkan Ağıroğlu, a fourth-year Interior Architecture and Environmental Design student, gives advice as to how this year’s freshmen can make their university lives a bit easier and less complicated.

In order to lead a successful life, we have to take many steps along the way, which in the end bring us to the ultimate triumph. We’re given the chance of choosing our path, and that’s what enhances the beauty of life. Today, with the excitement and nervousness of graduation approaching, I can easily say that attending Bilkent University has been one of the most worthwhile decisions I’ve made on my way to achieving a successful life.

Bilkent is more than just a small step that will prepare you for the future. With its distinguished reputation and atmosphere, the university offers many opportunities that complement you and your skills; this is an outcome of Bilkent’s exceptional educational standards.

You understand the true value of Bilkent when you’re about to graduate. First of all, the university has well-established educational methods and systems and an outstanding academic substructure that will polish your skills and prepare you for the world. On your part, all you need to do is keep pace with Bilkent’s academic system. Although doing this is not very easy – in fact, sometimes it gets very painful – it will help you develop a very beneficial lifestyle that you will carry along on the road to success. Due to Bilkent’s excellent reputation, you will also find that it will be rather easier for you to find internships and work opportunities in the near future.

As most of us know, academic success and even knowledge are not worth it just by themselves, and therefore I would suggest that you have a healthy social life as well. You can join student clubs and take part in social service projects and other campus activities to create a good social circle and, above all, to realize your strengths. Make sure to be careful about your priorities.
