For most of us, a new role in life presents a variety of challenges and some surprises, too. Advice from someone who’s already been there can help get us through the rough spots. In the case of university students, who better than seniors to offer the benefit of their experience?
This week, Halil Can Sezgi, a fourth-year Management student, gives advice as to how this year’s freshmen can make their university lives a bit easier and less complicated.
Q. What advice would you give freshmen about the Bilkent experience?
Make as many friends as you can, because friendships make classes and your social life easier. Especially in courses with group projects, you’ll need this a lot. Try to take part in social activities and join student clubs, because you may not have much time to get closer to people during the last years of university. But always remember that you need to have a good balance between academics and social life.
Q. What’s something one should keep in mind throughout their time at Bilkent?
The social network is one of the most important things about your university life.
