What's Hot and What's Not at the Movies?

Most of the well-known critics in USA think, “He hasn’t produced such an outstanding film since the Unforgiven”. Moreover, some of those critics strongly believe that this movie will be nominated for numerous Oscars this year. Does that seem too strong? Nope, definitely not, believe you me! “Mystic River is the best among the wide selection of movies that you can presently choose from.
This new film by Clint Eastwood debuted in Turkey last week, on the 24th of October. The cast of the movie is so explosive that you will definitely be excited to see these actors and actresses perform. Some of those actors like Tim Robbins, Sean Penn and for sure Clint Eastwood (as an actor, director and producer) have mind blowing backgrounds in acting. What I mean from mind blowing is that, these guys played in some movies that I can never forget such as, “Unforgiven” (Clint Eastwood), “The Shawshank Redemption” (Tim Robbins), and “I am Sam” (Sean Penn) and definitely many more if you take the time to think about it.
Moreover, Kevin Bacon, Laurence Fishburne, Marcia Gay Harden, Laura Linney and Emmy Rossum star in the movie. This film is actually a story of three close friends, how they drift apart and are unexpectedly reunited, due to a tragic death. This novel-based movie is like a matrushka doll. For every incident that comes out, you find another one inside of it. Every event is intricately related with the others in a completely logical sense. This movie is not just an ordinary drama, detective or a mystical enterprise, but a film where every incident is supported with perfect acting. I was extremely impressed with the entire cast’s acting, especially Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Marcia Gay Harden and the children’s acting was so realistic and fascinating that an academy award cannot be far away. There are some scenes that I still cannot forget in which just a phrase in the script blows your mind. Nonetheless, the movie has some important scenes which are ripe for analysis and leads you to find more than you expected. This is especially true of the totally unexpected ending. This is the beauty of the film, in that everybody gets something different and I can strongly recommend it to all ardent film viewers.
“Mystic River” is currently being shown in all well-known movie theatres in Ankara.
