Ice Skating Course to Begin

Are you ready for a fun and fascinating sports activity? The Physical Education and Sports Center offers an Ice Skating Course to all members of the Bilkent community two days a week (Tuesday/Thursday) at BELPA in Bahçelievler. The course is being taught by Dr. Levent Tunalı, who works at the Bilkent University Health Center.
This is an activity that may turn out to be a life-long hobby for you, as happened in the case of Dr. Tunalı. Taught by Russian professional skaters, Dr. Levent initiated this program in 1997, in order to introduce the basics of ice skating to Bilkenters.
The program teaches movements like forward/backward skating, cross-overs and spins. In addition, couples who want to learn how to skate as a pair will be taught special figures. Ice skating is an enjoyable and relaxing form of exercise. Most people are able to skate quite well after only a few lessons, and some can perform figures like the spin by the time they complete this course.
The sessions will be held at the BELPA Ice Skating Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All the equipment necessary will be provided at the Center. If you want to try this very enjoyable sport, where you can glide over the ice to the accompaniment of music, here is your opportunity. You should register for the program as soon as possible, since space is limited. One last thing: Don't forget to put your sweaters on!
