The
Women's Intermural Volleyball First League Category B "Adana Cup"
tournament was held at Çukurova University March 28-April 1. Five
university teams participated in the tournament: Kayseri Erciyes
University, Mersin University, Samsun 19 Mayıs University, Gaziantep
University and Bilkent University.
The tournament began with an opening ceremony on Monday, March 28.
The Bilkent-Kayseri match followed, with the victory going to Bilkent by
a score of 3-1. In its second match, with Mersin, Bilkent lost by a
score of 3-1.
On the third day of the tournament, the Bilkent women lost the first two
games in their match against Gaziantep University, but fought back to
win the next three games for a 3-2 victory. Following the match, which
took hours, the team received well-deserved congratulations from
everyone. Their achievements were also noted by Sabah newspaper, which
called Bilkent "a very successful team" that "played very well and
defeated its rivals."
In their last match, the Bilkent women were defeated by Samsun 19 Mayıs
University, by a score of 3-0.
The team ended Adana Cup play with an overall record of 2-2, a good
result for its first tournament at the Category B level.
