Bilkent Judges Play Final Game of the Season

The Bilkent Judges ended their season on April 23 with a game against the Gazi University Warriors. Although the Judges were successful in bringing the ball down to the Warriors' goal line, they were unable to take full advantage of their offensive strength and in the end lost by a score of 42-22.
A bright spot despite the loss was the fact that two Bilkent team members, Emek Erdolu, #32, and Hakan Akan, #98, captured the MVP (most valuable player) award for game.
After this last game, the Judges ranked fifth in the final standings of the Turkish university American football league. This was a good result for the team, which consists mostly of first- and second-year students. Coach Alper Angưn expressed satisfaction with his team's performance. "The team is made up mainly of junior players. Next season, we expect to achieve greater success with the support of our team’s experienced senior members.”
MVP Erdolu (LAUD/II) had this to say after the season's final game: “Our new offensive team is continuing to improve. Everyone saw our success in the fourth game. Our performance should be very strong next season." Another team member, Emrah Tezcan (COMD/II), said, “We represented Bilkent as successfully as we could. We believe that during the next few years our team will achieve more success with its third- and fourth-year players.”
So, congratulations to the Judges on their performance in the 2004-2005 American football season--like them, we look forward to next year!
