Bilkent News interviewed Kağan Eynak, the coach of
Bilkent's men's basketball team and coordinator for men's and women's basketball teams,
and obtained information about basketball activities on campus.
The Bilkent basketball team is composed of two groups of 15 players each, the A and B
teams. The A team represents Bilkent in tournaments. The B team is the secondary team, and
trains alternates for the A team. Both teams have training sessions twice a week.
Upcoming inter-university basketball events include the 2. Ayva Kupası in
November and the Inter-University Tournament organized by the University Sports
Federation. It is important to note that every Bilkent student can participate in these
events by coming to watch and support our team! Upcoming intramural tournaments are: the
Republic Cup Tournament in the first term, and the Rector's Cup Tournament in the second
term. These tournaments will be held in both 3-on-3 street ball style and 5-on-5 regular
style. They are open to all Bilkent students; those who are interested in participating
can speak with Kağan Eynak.
The Physical Education and Sports Center also offers free basketball courses for students
who want to develop and practice their basketball skills. Sessions take place on Mondays
and Wednesdays, and everyone is welcome.
Whether it's learning the skills of the game, playing on a team, or simply playing with
your friends, Bilkent has opportunities for all students interested in basketball! To
learn more about basketball at Bilkent, you can stop by the Physical Education and Sports
Center or call ext. 1993.
