FOCUS ON: Aerobics/Step Programs

The Physical Education and Sports Center has launched a series of aerobics/step classes, supervised by instructor Filiz Gür. These classes provide participants with an opportunity to become more active in a safe, effective, and enjoyable way. Gür says, “Our aerobic/step program offers you an enjoyable workout with music that helps you experience the dynamism of group exercise. It also aims to improve the cardio and circulation systems and muscle firmness and power, and to reduce fat percentage and physical and mental stress."


Here are some of the aerobics/step programs:
Pilates: A series of static and dynamic exercises using dumbbells to firm
and sculpt the upper and lower body.
Thursday, 4:40 p.m.: Student Dormitories Sports Hall / Friday, 4:40 p.m.: Main Sports Hall
Latino: A fun program, suitable for any level, that integrates salsa, mambo
and cha-cha with aerobics.
Tuesday, Thursday, 5:40 p.m.: Student Dormitories Sports Hall
Tuesday, Thursday, 4:40 p.m.: Main Sports Hall
Tae-Bo: Tae-Bo is a high-energy, high-impact blend of kicks and punches set
to upbeat music. This class is the perfect combination of martial arts, boxing and cardiovascular training.
Monday, Wednesday, 6:50 p.m.: Student Dormitories Sports Hall
H.A.T.: A workout program that involves the hips, abdominal muscles and
thighs.
Monday, Wednesday, 4:40 p.m.: Main Sports Hall
Tuesday, Thursday, 5 p.m.: East Campus Sports Hall


Other programs are Abs & Legs, Fat Loss, L.B.T. Tone, Hatha Yoga, Step, Aeromix, Aerobics and Stretching & Toning.


Registration for aerobics/step classes has already gotten underway.
Aerobics/step instructors Bülent Uzunoğlu, Mert Sağlar, Seda Özsoy, Pınar Tansı, Fatoş Harmancı, Ahsen Küçükdurmaz, Filiz Öztürk, Hakan Göveli, Serhan Gürhan and Emre Bağcı are looking forward to your participation.


Instructor Filiz Gür hopes that everyone will become involved in the sports programs this fall term.
