Bilkent Students Offer Folk Song and Dance Performance

The Bilkent Folklore Club, founded in 2002 by students interested in traditional culture, aims to promote awareness of the riches of Anatolian culture so as to better protect and maintain them. Two groups within the club--the Folk Dance Group and the Folk Song Group--hold regular practice sessions throughout the academic year in order to put on at least two major performances a year. This year, their first performance will take place on Thursday, December 15 in the C-Block Auditorium at 5:30 p.m. The program will include Turkish folk songs (türkü) and several folk dances, all performed by club members.
