Bilkent - METU Rematch Ends in One Victory, One Defeat

The games took place in the METU Sports Hall. Since the METU teams had both been beaten when they visited Bilkent the week before, it looked like an opportunity for payback as they faced our Bilkent teams on their home court.

The women played their game first. By the time it started, the fans had already filled most of the stands in the sports hall. It was a close game up to halftime, with a score of 26-25 in the METU women's favor. However, the Bilkent women couldn't maintain their first-half performance and seemed to lose their concentration as the game went on. The gap widened in the second half, and the game ended with a 61-40 victory for the METU women.

The second game of the night didn't go the same way. The Bilkent men's team managed to focus on the game and keep up with their opponents throughout all four periods. At the end of the evening, they had succeeded in beating METU by a score of 65-62. The Bilkent men have now won all but one of their games during this year's Ayva Cup tournament. Regarding the Ayva Cup, the coach of the men's team, Kaan Eynak, said, "Tournaments like these give our team members who do not play for professional clubs a chance to experience the excitement of competition, enriching their university athletic career." He also stated that with the Intramural Basketball Tournament (C-Category) scheduled to take place December 13-17, the Ayva Cup provides a good opportunity to prepare for it.

We wish both our teams good luck in their future games.
