On
November 23, two Bilkent exchange students, along with their former Turkish language
teacher Marie-Hélène Sauner from Aix-en-Provence University in France, were interviewed
on television by TRT2. The French students described their experience with the Erasmus
Program, an international exchange program that gives students the opportunity to live in
a foreign country for a semester or a full year. Erasmus encourages students to improve
their language skills, learn about a different culture, and create lifelong friendships
with other students from diverse backgrounds.
The students, Laurent Mouraret and Patricia Muti, arrived at the School of Applied
Languages in September. Laurent remarked to the Bilkent News that
everything had been done to make them comfortable here at Bilkent, and that the university
is well-organized to host international students, with an infrastructure that permits them
to work in a good environment and take interesting courses.
