Close But Not Quite: Judges Lose to Başkent, 9-8

Bilkent's American football team, the Judges, ended the first half of their 2005-2006 season with a game against the Ba?kent Knights on the Judges' home field on Saturday, December 17. Both teams put up a strong defense, but the game ended with Bilkent losing by a single point, 9-8.

In the first two quarters, the Judges were held scoreless by their opponents, and the Knights left the field at halftime with a 6-0 lead. Neither team managed to score during the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Judges fought back. Quarterback Yaman Zoral got his team a touchdown and a two-point conversion, giving Bilkent an 8-6 lead. However, a field goal by the Knights put the visitors back on top. In the middle of the quarter, the Judges created excitement among their fans by a drive into Ba?kent territory that would have given them a chance to win the game. But a controversial call by the referee went against the Judges, and the game ended with a 9-8 victory for Ba?kent.
