on the Seyahatname (travelogue and cultural commentary) by the 17th-century
travel writer Evliya Çelebi. The first is a new article by the prominent
Evliya Çelebi scholar Robert Dankoff, professor of Turkish at the
University of Chicago; the second is a reprint of an early study (1917)
by Albert Howe Lybyer.
Erendiz Atasü's novel "The Other
Side of the Mountain" is analyzed in two articles by Prof. Dilek Doltaş
and Dr. Yasemin Alptekin. The issue also includes Prof. Sevda Şener's
study entitled "Images of the Woman in Turkish Drama as Illustrated by
the Plays of Adalet Ağaoğlu," as well as several book reviews and two
obituaries. The
