 The
Bilkent Yaya Hiking Club is organizing a 30-kilometer walk between the
central Anatolian towns of Güdül and Beypazarı. The walk will take place
on Sunday, February 19. A bus will take the hikers to Güdül early
in the morning. In the evening, many kilometers later, the group will
have dinner in Beypazarı.
This is the third time
in three years that such an event is taking place. The first time was to
train for the "Coast to Coast" walk in 2004, and the second was to
prepare for the "Cappadocian Hike" in 2005. This month's walk gives
hikers the opportunity to get ready for the coming summer's "Phrygian
Walk," scheduled for the first two weeks of June.
