"Genç Bakış," a program
for high school students conducted by Bilkent volunteers, started its
activities for this year on Sunday, February 12. Despite the bad weather,
an enthusiastic group of high schoolers attended the volunteers'
presentation about the project. After the presentation, everyone
participated in brainstorming on what would be done in the upcoming
months.
Genç Bakış, which is a
Bilkent TDP-TOG program, has been in place for two years now. This year,
the group is conducting its activities with the support of the Ministry
of National Education, as a pilot project at Farabi High School.
The university students
have developed training programs to mentor high schoolers and help them
organize their own social service projects. In addition, the Bilkent
volunteers will organize a variety of social activities on weekends,
according to the needs and wants of the high school students.
