 The
noted author Elif Şafak will be at Bilkent for an evening program on
Wednesday, April 5. Ms. Şafak has published many volumes of literary
works, including short stories, essays and six novels. Her most recent
novel, “Baba ve Piç” (“The Father and the Bastard”), was published this
year on March 8, International Women’s Day.
A prolific and popular author of the younger generation, Ms. Şafak is a
recipient of several literary awards. Her reputation has grown steadily
since her first novels appeared in the late 1990s, and today she has a
wide following.
In the April 5 program organized by the Center for Turkish Literature,
the author will speak about literature and current topics, and will
answer questions from the audience. The event will begin at 6 p.m.,
in C-Block Auditorium in the FEASS building.
