The Women's and Men’s First League Category B Volleyball Tournament was
held at the Bilkent University Main Campus Sports Center March 28-31.
Seven university teams participated: Ankara University, Bilkent
University, Başkent University, Bolu İzzet Baysal University, Kara Harp,
Kırıkkale University and Middle East Technical University.
The Bilkent women's team, coached by Sarp Baturalp and Ömer Mihalıcçık,
played very well. In their first match, they defeated Bolu İzzet Baysal
University, 3-0. On the second day of the tournament, they defeated METU
by a score of 3-0, without giving up a single set. Their only loss came
on the third day, when they were defeated 3-0 by Ankara University, the
tournament's winning team. The Bilkent women's good performance brought
them second place.
