The
topics range from Ottoman literary patronage to satiric dictionaries,
from the poetry of Edip Cansever to Sezai Karakoç, from the stories of
Füruzan to Turkish renditions of Shakespeare. The students are also
discussing more than twenty novels written during the early-modern and
modern periods in Turkey.
On
Monday morning, the well-known critic Doğan Hızlan gave the opening
talk. Three other prominent literary critics, Süreyyya Evren, Sırma
Köksal and A. Ömer Türkeş, are participating in the sessions as
panelists.
Sessions are scheduled from 10-11 a.m. and 1:30-3 and
3:30-5 p.m., Monday through Wednesday.
