Sailing in Göcek

The Bilkent University Sailing and Yachting Club made their first sailing trip to Göcek from December 8-10 with 19 participants. The students who went on the trip had a chance to sail around some of the most spectacular inlets in the Mediterranean and an opportunity to learn and practice the art of sailing. They received training on engine cruising, boat handling and fundamental sailing methods. Furkan Cengiz (CS/II), who happened to be on a sailing boat for the first time, said the trip was very instructive and beneficial, and that there was a lot more to the trip than just sailing. The trip also proved to be successful and useful for the more experienced members. Cem Açıkada (LAW/II), one of the founding members of the club, stated that the trip was not only informative and educational for the new enthusiasts, but it was also a great opportunity for the more experienced sailors to train. The club members are passionate about future training sessions and trips, and are waiting for newcomers. For more information about the club you can visit the club's page at http://www.bilkentyachtclub.org

Please remember that the club is not only for students, but also is open to any staff, alumni or faculty member who loves sailing or who wants to learn about it.
