Waterproof and oil-proof clothes, space elevator, smart clothes
that record our heart rate and breathing, buildings that construct themselves, super
computers, self-cleaning glass and dyes, new treatment techniques for cancer, and
nanorobots that travel in our body may seem like science fiction. But for all of these, a
new world is emerging: Nanotechnology.
The Bilkent Nanotechnology Club was established in order to increase familiarity and
magnify "nano"technology. The club's main concerns are recent developments in
nanotechnology, some basic technical issues and the reflection of nanotechnology in our
daily life. Furthermore, the club plans to share research from Turkey and the world with
the Bilkent community. To that end, they have designed a web page and prepared an
e-journal in Turkish.
