 The student film festival, Paso fest, will be held by students and teachers
from several universities in Ankara; the Department of Communication and Design of the
Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at Bilkent University, the Faculty of
Communication at Gazi University, and the Faculty of Communication at Başkent University
from March 30 to April 10. Every year, for the past
seven years, the festival has given students the chance to screen their films and digital
media works for audiences. The festival is organized at the German Cultural Center in
Ankara.
The student film festival also aims to mediate cultural exchange by screening a number of
student films from abroad and hosting visitors from the German Film Lutcher/International
Short Film Festival in Detmold with support from the European Youth Center. There will
also be workshops and seminars given by professionals from the film business.
The film fest will include these activities: Public Screenings, films
that were submitted to the festival will be evaluated with regard to content and form. Special
Screenings, short films of students from abroad will be shown at special
screenings. Panels and Talks, different panels and talks will aim to
provide students with advice on particular problems in the creation process of film.
Workshops, during the festival, professionals from the film industry will
host workshops for selected students.
