On March 31, Bilkent University Nanotechnology Club hosted an event on nanotechnology in cooperation with the newly-established Bilkent Nanotechnology Research Center (NANOTAM), National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) and its acknowledged scientists. Abbas Güçlü, a columnist of the Turkish daily Milliyet, also attended the Bilkent Nanotechnology Day.

During the event, Prof. Ekmel Özbay, Asst. Prof. İhsan Gürsel, Asst. Prof. Mehmet Bayındır, Asst. Prof. Hilmi Volkan Demir, Prof. Şefik Süzer, Asst. Prof. Erman Bengü and Asst. Prof. Özgür Aktaş gave seminars on nanodevices, nanobiotechnology, nanophysics, photonics, nanochemistry, material science and nanoelectronics. Many students and scientists from the faculties of engineering and science, as well as other fields, participated in the talks and addressed their questions to the presenters in a supportive, scientific environment.
