BilWIC Brings Business Leaders Together with Bilkent Students

The BilWIC (Bilkent University ACM-W Women in Computing) Club is continuing to promote activities for female students to gain skills and expertise in the IT area. The club is the first international ACM-W Student Chapter and aims at supporting female students to become successful businesswomen of the future by creating a social, supportive environment for those with common interests in IT. BilWIC previously organized a tutorial on Excel for students who were not comfortable with the program under guidance of CTP and BIM instructors. Currently, they are bringing high-level businessmen together with Bilkent students. On April 18, BilWIC welcomed HP Turkey Managing Director Şahin Tulga who has managed numerous companies in the IT sector during his career. He gave a seminar to Bilkent students and informed them about his experiences, interest areas and generally about leadership, women in computing and the IT sector in general. On April 27, BilWIC welcomed John Impagliazzo, representing ACM, who spoke about the history of computing. Additionally, another seminar will be held on May 1, at Mithat Çoruh Auditorium. The speaker will be Havelsan General Manager Faruk Yarman who will present general issues regarding IT.
