Happy
New Year from Your Library!
We have been making improvements all semester long, and will continue to do so in the New
Year in order to serve you better. These changes include the introduction of a Library
Newsletter - published in print and online. Keep your eyes open, because the next issue
will be out very soon.
As you may already know, we are no longer using the date-due slips and stamps at the back
of borrowed books. Instead, electronic reminders about due dates are being sent out. Be
sure to confirm that the email address you have registered at the library is up-to-date,
and check your e-mails frequently.
Since the last week of November, only current issues have been available in the
Periodicals Room (A-Block, first floor). All bound periodicals (A to Z) are now located in
the lower basement of A-Block. This includes the A to J journals which were previously
located in the Periodicals Room. Bound journals may be accessed in this new location
Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. During these hours there will be a member
of the library staff to assist you. Outside of these hours, you must contact the
circulation staff in order to consult bound journals.
By the start of next semester, 32 new computers with internet access will be installed in
the Reference and Periodicals rooms to facilitate your studying and research.
Reference Librarians will be at their desks in these rooms to help out and answer any
questions you may have.
In 2008, we resolve to continue improving our collection, and provide you with better
library service overall.
Have a Happy New Year and we look forward to being here for you in 2008!
