 Bilkent University's Directorate of Training Programs for Regional Countries, in cooperation with TİKA (Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency), organized a certificate program for Macedonian instructors entitled "New Understandings on Education."
Eight Bilkent instructors went to Macedonia to share new technologies, methods and techniques in education. Training has been offered at several schools in the country, with 238 teacher trainees participating.
The aim of the Directorate of Training Programs for Regional Countries is to enhance and maintain friendships and cooperation between Turkic communities, and to provide greater educational opportunities. Dr. Rasim Özyürek pointed out that between 1995 and 2008, the Directorate has organized 106 training programs and certified 2026 trainees.
