On December 7 and 8, 2007, the Department of Management MAN 473 class were invited to İstanbul Kültür University to take part in the 4th SME Congress to discuss obstacles currently being faced by Turkish small and medium sized enterprises.
The class was well prepared as this was the title of their course ("SME and Obstacles in Cross-border Ventures"). Twenty eight MAN students had the opportunity to participate in debates and panel discussions.
"Excursions do work," stated course instructor Klaus Jurgens. "Students can meet leading business people as well as representatives from banks and many other institutions. It is all about networking while still at University."
The event was a joint initiative with İstanbul Kültür University and the trip was made possible by Professor Dr. Güneş Gençyılmaz from İstanbul Kültür University. He also invited Klaus Jurgens to give a presentation on “Clustering in the European Union.”
