A joint initiative by the US Embassy in Ankara, the Turkey Office of the Fulbright Commission and Bilkent University made it possible for Professor Dr. Pete Johnson, the Dean of Admissions at Haas Business School at the University of California at Berkeley, to give a "Live" presentation to a packed Bilkent Video Conference Room, Monday, March 3.
The topic was about studying in the US with the financial and logistical support of the Fulbright Scholarship System. Lara Meltem-Bilikmen spoke for about 25 minutes, representing the Fulbright Commission here in Ankara. After the video link was established, Professor Johnson introduced Berkeley, the MBA program, and other interesting facts about studying in the States. At the end, students were invited to ask questions to both Professor Johnson and Ms. Meltem-Bilikmen.
The event was arranged to expose students to future academic and professional options while still studying at Bilkent. It was also a good opportunity to make use of the schools state-of-the-art technical facilities.
Students who participated in this event have received another Fulbright Commission Turkey invitation for a specific meeting detailing further options for studying abroad.
