Letter to the Editor... Letter to the Editor...

As readers may recall from last weeks edition of Bilkent News, student columnist Onur Çelik had a few words to say about the new computer registration system. He felt that the time it took to change courses was robbed him of precious last moments in the sunshine. An exact quote was, "There has got to be a way to make the registration process simpler and fairer, and I think an explanation by the officials is in order." Well, Onur, you got what you wished for. We have your explanation:

"The new course registration system allows students to change the sections of registered courses, if there is no time schedule conflict, without filling out any forms. Also, the new section should have at least one free seat, and it should be open to the student's department.

The registration system forces the students to fill out forms and get approvals only when adding or dropping a course conflicts with the new regulations. The new regulations can be accessed through http://www.bilkent.edu.tr/bilkent-tr/admin-unit/hukukm/lisans/index.html

Seyit Koçberber
