 Middle East Technical University held its third annual Chess Team Championship in METU's Teknokent Sports Hall from April 17 to 19. Bilkent University's chess team placed third at the event, while Sarp Koç, playing on the team's second board, shared the award for best second board player.
The competing team consisted of four Bilkenters:
1) Hakan Oluç (IE)
2) Sarp Koç (MATH)
3) Kudret Avcı (CHEM)
4) Serdar Ay (MATH)
In total, 19 teams representing 12 universities from all around Turkey participated in the Tournament. The top five teams are as follows:
1) Boğaziçi University
2) Ankara University
3) Bilkent University
4) 9 Eylül University
5) Middle East Technical University
