Bir Kadın Bir Erkek,” (A Guy & A Girl), is the Turkish version of an original Quebec comedy series (Un Gars Une Fille). A typical episode features several short stories about the daily life of a relatively ordinary couple. Sometimes they are on vacation, just in the elevator, shopping or driving. Humor comes out of the peculiarity of their otherwise-mundane circumstances and the quarrels the couple has. The show is very popular among Turkey's youth.
Actress Demet Evgar and Bilkent University Department of Theater Graduate actor Emre Karayel are part of the cast. The crew includes producer Mehmet Altıoklar, director Müge Turalı, scenarist Murat Dişli and the General Manager of Türkmax Petek Karadağ, who attended a talk organized by the Industrial Engineering Department Operational Research Club on Tuesday, December 1.
More than 300 students from Bilkent University came to the Mithat Çoruh Auditorium to be a part of the conversation about “Bir Kadın Bir Erkek.” They discussed the process of filming episodes for the show and answered audience questions with humor. Mehmet Altıoklar said that the Turkish version of the series is the second most successful one of the 67 versions that are broadcast around the world. |
