AYKUT KARAALİOĞLUHoliday Inn Midterm

Before the bayram holiday, I had many plans to study midterm exams, prepare presentations, projects etc. But when the holiday came, I forgot about everything regarding school. If you ask me what I did over bayram, I'd say I did nothing. You know this is holiday-you go to the movies (lots of new ones were released) or hang out with your friends, maybe arrange a little trip. On the other hand, I didn't do anything but read a couple books that aren't related to any course or exam. I just kind of enjoyed myself.

By the end of the bayram holiday, I asked myself, "What's going on? Come on, open your books. You have just one month left till the end of the fall semester. You will be free, just 15 days, I think. So I don't have any problem with holidays because I heard that 2010 has 117 holiday days. But every single Monday following the end of bayram is terrible and disgusting for all students.

Almost all students' addictions are often to study for midterms or finals. We think about the midterm with one week left but start to study the day before. However, we are geniuses, intelligent enough to pass the course with just one day's worth of effort. I don't understand how, but we can.

I don't want to spend my time writing irrelevant things, because I have to write my own research paper. On the other hand, I want to give some key advice to be successful on your exams:
- Get the photocopy from your best friends. (You don't know these friends before the exam but just meet these guys. They are so nice.)
- Before the exam day, you should be online on MSN because you can reach your friend's notes.
- Turn off your computer, television, and radio, which are necessary for concentration and focus on your notes.
- Call your friends to meet at a café, first to hang out, then study. In the following hours you probably cannot use your notes, pens, papers, but you can discuss course issues.
- The school bus is the best place to study because you just have an average of 30 minutes to learn everything. Therefore, you shouldn't use own cars to get to school.
- Two or three hours before the exam, discuss ideas about what exam questions could be with your friends.

These are just fundamental things but they are useful. Good luck everyone!
