From the Traffic Committee

yayaThe Traffic Committee would like to draw your attention to a few points concerning the pedestrians' indisputable right of way on campus:
- Giving pedestrians the right of way means, when a pedestrian who is observed attempting to cross the road, bringing the vehicle to a complete stop and waiting until the pedestrian has crossed the road.
- Pedestrians' right of way is valid at all points on campus, not only at pedestrian crossings.
- One of the dangers is when a vehicle stops to allow a pedestrian to cross over, for the vehicle behind to attempt to pass the one which has stopped, thus putting the pedestrian in danger. Always stop when you see a vehicle which has stopped in the middle of the road. Never forget that there may be a pedestrian crossing over in front of this vehicle.
- And a short reminder for pedestrians too: Please use the pedestrian crossings. Try to pass as quickly as possible and refrain from hesitating or turning back while crossing over, thus misleading the driver waiting for you to complete your crossing.
