Tonight (Tuesday, 22 December) at 7 p.m. marks 10 years of caroling at the Uptown Bistro on Bilkent Campus.
The tradition started in 1999 when newcomers Erin Maloney (BF) and Anne Ferrell (former FAE) approached Bistro manager to see if he would be interested in having them sing Christmas carols at the Bistro.
Each December for the carols, the Bistro has been decorated with Christmas and New Year regalia and serve a special holiday drink of mulled wine.
Ms. Maloney sings and plays the piano for the Christmas carols, while she accompanies children of Bilkent faculty and staff (and the faculty and staff who feel like children themselves) who wish to sing to classics like “Good King Wenceslas,” “Away in a Manger,” and “Jingle Bells."
Anyone who would like to get in the holiday spirit -- and possibly sing a song -- is encouraged to stop by the Bistro tonight to participate in Christmas caroling.
