2009 Ankara Open Squash Tournament was held on December 26 and 27. This preparation event for the European Championship produced hopeful results. The European Championship will take place in France on April.
Among the 80 participants were Bilkent graduates Sinan Salih, Onur Sulkalar, Hüseyin Gümüş, Melih Kaptanoğlu, Onur Sanrı, Zeynep Kocakavak, Hatice Kocakavak, who successfully completed the tournament. Kağan Korad, Assistan Dean, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, was also one of the participants.
In the men's category Sinan Salih ranked 4th and Zeynep Kocakavak ranked 3rd in the women's category.
