Ice-Skating for Fun and Exercise

ice-skating

The Physical Education and Sport Center is offering ice-skating courses. For all Bilkent community members who would like to enjoy this artful and relaxing sport, all levels of skating are taught.

Basic Skills Instruction enables students to pursue interests in figure skating or other kinds of skating like hockey. Group skating lessons cover many figure skating basics and are a good way to get started.

Dr. Levent Tunalư from the East Campus Health Center and other teachers from the Belpa Skating Center will be teaching the course Registration, which is taking place at the Sports centers.

Classes start in the spring on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (Tuesday 6:30 p.m. -7:10 p.m. Thursday 7:10 p.m. -7:50 p.m.). The monthly fee is 90 TL, which includes entry to the facility and ice skates.

Don't think that it's such a chore to go to the city and skate! Belpa is just a five minute walk from the Bilkent Bahçelievler bus stop.

Ice-skating is an invigorating form of exercise. Most people are able to skate quite well after only a few lessons and some can even perform figures like "the spin" after this course.

For those who are not free on weekday evenings, additional times will be provided according to the particular needs of the participants.

For further information, please apply to Dr. Tunalư via e-mail at: tlevent@bilkent.edu.tr, phone: (542) 518-1254
