AYKUT KARAALİOĞLUGateway City St. Louis

I don't like any fall break, because when I used to live in full-time sleep and movies, the holiday ended in a blur.

I should do something to make myself feel better. So this semester break,

I went to the United States. I made plans to visit museums, art galleries and some shows. Normally, almost all students from Bilkent go to Uludağ and hang out with their friends at Snowfest. Yeah, that is nice, but it is not my type of thing to do this year. 2010 is a cultural year for us because Istanbul is the official cultural capital city of Europe.  I don't have a chance to spend my holiday in Istanbul since I am in St. Louis, Missouri. My family lives there.

St. Louis offers so many attractions, so many things to see and do that you'll probably run out of time before you run out of options. However, I want to give a list of the top 10 things I think one should do whilst in St. Louis.
1) Ride to the top of the Gateway Arch, towering 630 feet over the Mississippi River.
2) Visit an artistic oasis in the heart of the city's downtown. The city garden offers a vibrant blend of lush plants and internationally renowned sculpture.
3) Explore Forest Park's 1,300 acres of lakes, walking paths and attractions.
4) Drive Old Route 66 and visit some of the "Mother Road's" most fascinating stops.
5) Enjoy world-class free attractions, including the Art Museum, zoo, Science Center, Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Grant's Farm, and the Missouri History Museum.
6) Marvel at the Missouri Botanical Garden, one of the world's top public gardens.
7) Visit an ancient Indian civilization at Cahokia Mounds.
8) Get an adrenaline rush on the world-class roller coasters and thrill rides at Six Flags St. Louis.
9) Experience live blues music in one of the dozens of area clubs and taverns.
st. louis10) Take in the art at the Laumeier Sculpture Park, the Contemporary Art Museum, the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts and The Sheldon Concert Hall, Ballroom & Art Galleries.

You can see that this list includes attractions, historic sites, and exciting entertainment options. So I have to hurry to complete my list.
