Roll up your Sleeves: It's Flu Season Again!

Each year with the beginning of fall season, flu cases increase. Because of this, a flu vaccine Campaign has been started. Vaccine will be available in each campus for the staff and students at Health Centers.

If you have Acıbadem Insurances you can pay only %30 of the price.

The following people are at a higher risk for complications from flu:

  • Adults age 65 or older
  • All children aged 6-59 months.
  • Adults and children who have chronic lung diseases, including asthma or heart diseases
  • Adults and children who have needed medical care in the past year for a chronic metabolic disease (such as diabetes mellitus), kidney disease, or sickle cell disease or other hemoglobin problems (including severe anemia)
  • Adults and children whose immune systems are compromised by disease, such as human immunodeficiency virus, or are undergoing medical care, such as chemotherapy
  • Children who are on long-term aspirin therapy (6 months - 18 years), which puts them at risk for Reye's syndrome following the flu.

But not everyone can take the flu vaccine, such as people allergic to eggs (used in making the vaccine); those currently will with high fever; or have had a severe reaction to the flu vaccine in the past.
