ieee

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering held its "Graduate Research Conference" organized by the Bilkent IEEE Student Branch on Wednesday, March 3, in the EE Building. During the conference, graduate students presented their research projects. Every year in addition to the students and staff of EEE Department, a number of  of visitors from different universities and companies attend this event to gain some knowledge about the research going on at the Bilkent EEE Department

Prof. Ayhan Altıntaş, chairman of the Bilkent EEE Department, delivered a speech that highlighted the benefits of these presentations to the research studies of graduate students. He said it would also be beneficial for prospective graduate students to learn what they will be doing in the future.

"By inviting some officials from the industry to this conference, we also try to strengthen the ties between the university and industry," Prof. Altıntaş said. The main goal here was both to find more financial support for the projects of the graduate students and to put the developed projects into the national economy.

He also thanked the IEEE Bilkent Student Branch and Assoc. Prof.  Cenk Çavuşoğlu for organizing the event and to all graduate students who contributed to the conference.
