TOP 10

BurakIf this is the last column for this semester, I would like to talk about the most significant concerts/festivals in Turkey this summer. Let me count them down from 10 to 1. The following are what I find to be the Top 10 concerts that will take place in Turkey.

10) Miller Freshtival
Line-up: Mika, The Raveonettes, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, DJ Prins Thomas, Fuji Kureta, N.A.K.I.T, DJ Junior, DJ No Frost and Turkish indie rock/pop band, Sakin. This festival will take place on May 29 at Küçükçiftlik Park, Istanbul.
Favorite artists/bands/songs: Sakin - Denek Hayatım, The Raveonettes - Love in a trash can.

9) Massive Attack
3D and Daddy G appear with their new album, Heligoland. The trip-hop band's new album has been marketed as their best album in 10 years. They are going to perform July 13 at Kuruçesme Arena.
Favorite songs: Teardrop, Angel.

8) Rihanna
This sexy R&B and pop singer/songwriter is going to have a concert on June 3 at Kuruçesme Arena.
Favorite songs: Cold Case Love, Photographs.

7) Ozzy Osbourne
The godfather of heavy metal is still alive and coming to prove it. He is going to perform on September 30 at Kuruçesme arena.
Favorite songs: Road to Nowhere, Crazy Train.

6) Faithless
Maxi Jazz, Sister Bliss and Rollo are coming to Turkey with their new album, The Dance. This British electronica band celebrates its 15th year anniversary in Istanbul as part of a worldwide tour. Faithless is going to perform on July 17 at Küçükçiftlik Park.
Favorite songs: Insomnia, Not going home, Bombs.

5) Efes One Love

Favorite artists/bands/songs: Groove Armada - Paper Romance, Wild Beasts - All the King's Men.

4) The Cranberries
The legendary Irish rock band and their incredible vocalist, Dolores O'Riordan, will come together again after seven years apart. The band's return to touring will take them to Turkey on July 22 at Küçükçiftlik Park and July 23 at Çeşme.
Favorite songs: Linger, Animal Instincts.

3) Bob Dylan
The legend is going to be in Turkey for the first time in 21 years, but unfortunately, tickets are already sold out. Will he perform here again? I don't think so. Don't miss your chance.
Favorite songs: All I Really Want To Do, World Gone Wrong.

2) Sonisphere Festival
This event is going to take place on June 25-26-27 at Inönü Stadium, and the line-up is delicious. Rammstein, Metallica , Alice In Chains, Manowar, Heaven and Hell, Pentagram Hayko Cepkin ,Slayer, Stone Sour, Volbeat, Megadeth, Mastodon, Anthrax, Blacktooth, Foma and more.
Favorite artists/bands/songs: Slayer - South of Heaven, Alice in Chains - Check My Brain, Metallica - Turn the Page

1) U2 with Snow Patrol
I love Snow Patrol, and I adore U2. If they perform on the same stage together, that would be the best concert for me without a doubt. U2's 360 Live Tour is known as one of the best tours ever, and this is their first visit to Turkey. Snow Patrol is going to perform before U2. The Irish alternative rock band is also going to perform for the first time in Turkey. We are looking forward to watching and listening to them on September 6 at Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadium, Istanbul.
Favorite songs: Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars, Run, Just Say Yes. U2 - All of the Songs
