They learned by playing games. New Social Awareness Project volunteers were led by the organization's Education Group in project preparation and team building to strengthen bonds between volunteers on September 26.
Volunteer training consisted of five different activities.
To start the session, new volunteers stood around in a circle and introduced themselves to one another. In the next activity the volunteers examined and discussed what it means to be an effective volunteer with a game. After this, they learned about how the process of becoming a volunteer differs from person to person. They also looked at how someone could change after being a volunteer. They learned how all obstacles could be overcome by working together.
In the next phase of training, volunteers were organized into groups of four and tried to create the highest tower by making use of given materials. They competed against each other and time. After the activity finished, the volunteers learned the importance of becoming one with the group. In the last two activities, the volunteers mainly learned how to create and perform certain given projects.
The new volunteers' education sessions lasted around five hours. After all the activities finished, the new and old volunteers played games for fun and had a wonderful time.
