Representatives from several countries met at the Fourth International Turkish Language Assembly in Crimea between September 26 and 28. Bilkent University organized the event in cooperation with the Crimean State University of Engineering and Pedagogy.
Attendees met to address issues that the Turkish language faces. They discussed the mechanics of Turkish in terms of its etymology, grammar, roots and vocabulary. Issues in communication and learning were also on the agenda, including problems in Turkish usage, tools in Turkish learning, themes in Turkish literature, and Turkish as a foreign language. The conference was also conducted in Turkish.
"Turkish is the richest language in the world," said Dr. Rasim Özyürek, director of the Fourth International Turkish Language Assembly. "We have been working in order to make Turkish a major language in global communication."
