Bridging National Boundaries

bridgeBridge is a brain activity, based on team spirit, strategy, and discipline. It is a card game played socially and competitively by millions of people all over the world. It can provide an immense challenge and great enjoyment. The Bilkent Bridge Club was founded for, and aims to introduce and teach, Bridge to anyone who is interested.

The Turkish Bridge Federation selected three Bilkent Bridge Club team members this year between 8-18 July, to represent Turkey's National Team in the European Youth Bridge Championship in Romania. Burak Tunçbilek (IE/IV) and Murat Özkan (IE/IV) played in the U-21 division, while Pınar Tekir (IE/IV) was a substitute player. Bridge Club also ranked third in the Turkish Universities Bridge Championship, which was held March 2-3, 2009 at Boğaziçi University.

Dr. Vedat Yetener, who has a Turkish Bridge Championship, is giving Bridge courses every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, in the 69th Dormitory Bridge Room. The classes, supervised by Oğuz Özbilgin, Asst. Secretary General, have already attracted plenty of interest among Bilkent students. You are more than welcome to come out and join! For more information about the Bilkent Bridge Club, you can send email to Burak Tunçbilek at buraktncblk@hotmail.com
