Upon entering the exhibition hall, I was welcomed by an array of interesting art work. The various shapes and colors filled the chamber with a certain feeling of excitement. These sculptures and works of ceramic are the very first pieces made by students in their elective art courses.
Impressively, the sculptures did not lack any craftsmanship. The form, shape and color of their parts were in harmony with their whole. I noticed in particular the selection of uniquely designed chair models. All the works seemed to capture time in their physique.
It is very important to note that the artists come from different departments throughout the university. This assortment of students are taking Introduction to Ceramics, Introduction to Sculpture from the Department of Fine Arts as an elective course. They bring to the art department unique perspectives and ways of seeing and creating. The exhibition of their work is open until the end of October in Cyberpark C Block entrance hall.
