Nevruz Program Planned

Sunday, March 21, is a national holiday for the Turkic world, Nevruz. Dr. Rasim Özyürek, the Director of the Training Program of Regional Countries, has organized a joyous celebration at Bilkent to mark the holiday in FADA room FF-05 at 11:30 a.m. The program includes: a speech by the Rector; "Nevruz in Azerbaijan" by Prof. Samir Tağzade of Ankara University; "The Significance of Nevruz," by Prof. Abdül Haluk Çay, President of the Turkic States Solidarity, Fraternity, and Cooperation Foundation; a speech by State Minister Aydın Tümen; and a Nevruz meal. The free program is in Turkish and everyone is invited.
At 3:30 p.m., a Nevruz soccer match including student players from Turkic states will be held at the mini-field along with a 5 kilometer run, which will start in front of the Main Campus Sports Center. Come and join in this welcoming of Spring!
