Student Union Election Application and
Candidacy Rules Set
Prospective candidates for the Student Union election, to be held Wednesday, April 28, are reminded that they must meet the following requirements to run for office.

  • All candidates must fill out an application form called Öğrenci Yönetim Kurulu Adaylık Başvuru Formu, which is available through the office of the dean or director of each student's faculty, school, or institute. The forms should be completed between 9 a.m. Monday, March 22, and 4 p.m. Thursday, March 25.
  • Students who have been the subject of disciplinary measures by the University or by state courts are not eligible to run.
  • Students who have already served in elected Student Union executive posts for two years in a row are not eligible to run.
  • Students currently on probation or who are currently repeating a year are not eligible.
  • Students planning to graduate during the 1998-1999 academic year should not run.
  • All applications should be submitted in person to the office of each candidate's dean or director by 4 p.m. on the 25th.

All students must submit photos of themselves with their application for candidacy. Because these same photos will be used to produce a special election issue of the Bilkent News that will be published on Monday, April 12, we ask that students submit an original picture, not a photocopy of a picture. Black and white passport-type photos with good contrast are best. Remember, the picture will represent you and your candidacy in print and will be seen by the entire University!
