Eyüp won with his speech titled "The Influence of Haiku (a form of Japanese poetry) and Kanji (Chinese characters)." Konak left on Hitachi-funded trip on the 4th and through the 19th he will visit several cities in Japan including Tokyo, where Hitachi is based; and Hiroshima. Konak has been taking Japanese for four years at Bilkent.
