24 Student Paragliders Certified
Bilkent News InteractiveThe Aviation Club's effort to introduce the sport of paragliding to Bilkent is showing results as the club trained its 55 members in paragliding this year. Last week, the club awarded certificates to 24 of its members who successfully completed the "Paragliding Student-Pilot Training" program. This happy event will be celebrated every year on May 9 with special activities for all club members. On behalf of the club administration, Burcu Özcam said, "This was our first step to a stronger and more developed Aviation Club in terms of both availability of skilled pilots and new equipment. Currently, we achieved this purpose, and the next step is to represent our university successfully in two Airfestivals that will be held May 28 through 30 in İzmir-Bozdağ and June 23 through 29 June in Abant with the participation of over 15 universities."

Club members who were certified are: Koray Aral (MAN-II), Burak Arıcı (IR-II), Aslı Ayaz (MB-I), Hilmi Aydın (IE-I), Sinan Avcı (CS-I), Veysel Kanat Ay (THM-I), Arçın Bozkurt (EE-Ms.), Elif Burgaz (MSSF-I), Burak Dede (ARHA-II), Ülker Deligöz (EE-I), Fırat Dersimli (THM-I), Andaç Durdağ (BF-II), Fırat Falay (CS-I), Amir Gözal (BUSEL), Cihan Özsönmez (ECON-I), Tuba Öztekin (THM-II), Bora Pekin (EE-I), Erinç Putun (MAN-I), Giray Sadık (IR-I), Neşe Şahin (CTT-IV), İbrahim Sünnetçi (ELIT-III), İslam Uzunboy (ARHA-III), Tuna Yalçın (THM-I), and Tuba Yargıç (THM-I).
