Student Wins Russian Reading Contest
A Bilkent International Relations (IR) student won first place in the Russian Embassy's recent Pushkin Poems Reading Contest, besting 14 competitors from Russian Language and Literature faculties from across Turkey.
Halit Dündar Akarca won the Thursday, April 15, contest and was named Turkey's representative at the international contest in Moscow. Halit will talk about his experience in Moscow at a conference on June 6 at Ankara University. Bilkent's Mustafa Gökçek (IR) won third place and was awarded a copy of Pushkin's collection. Other competitors from Bilkent, all from IR, were: Filiz Tutku Aydın and Ümit Ersoy.
