News From the Clubs at Bilkent

Bilinç Society Welcomes New Members

Bilinç Society is a brand-new club and it is for all students from all departments. In this club, you can learn interesting things about art, science, literature, music, and entertainment. Our goal is to organize activities to make Turkish youth more aware of social and contemporary subjects. We can widen our world view together in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We welcome all members who long for novelty and action. We hope BBT (Bilkent Bilinç Topluluğu) will bring new breath to the campus life of Bilkent.

Come and join us! Do not forget "Consciousness (Bilinç) is the only proof that you really exist" (Rene Descartes).

Food and Wine Club to Meet

The Food and Wine Club Board meeting will be held Wednesday, September 30, between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. in the club's room in the Tourism Building.

DOST Welcomes
New Members

On September 20, members of the Bilkent DOST Club went to the Hüseyin Gazi region for basic rock climbing training. There were four trainers and 19 beginners. During the day, members of the club climbed in top-rope technique. These newcomers learned how to tie in rope as well as some basic knots used in mountaineering.

If you missed this activity, don't worry. You still have a chance to join our outdoor sports club. Just come to one of our meetings, which are held every Tuesday at 5.30 p.m. in Room T-169 above Cafe Alle.

We invite everyone to attend these meetings to find out more about our weekend activities such as hiking, trekking, backpacking, canyoning, rock climbing and mountaineering. Training for all of these activities begins Tuesday, September 29, in Room T-169.

For more information about the club,
call Burak Galip Akkurt
at ext. 7238.
