Two-hundred and fifty instructors and students from the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts and the Music Preparation School will join with several other choirs Thursday, October 29, at 4 p.m. at Anİtkabir Mausoleum to sing national marches and play pieces commemorating the Republic and Atatürk.
The program was developed by the Directorate of the State Opera and Ballet. There is room for a crowd of about 10,000 to listen to the giant choir. The concert will be broadcast live across Turkey and overseas. The choirs will carry flags representing their schools.
President Suleyman Demirel will be present at the event and the choir members are expected to encourage to join in singing some of the pieces all together in a show of national spirit.
